Gold Coast Light Rail Stages 1-3
Gold Coast Light Rail is the largest public transport project undertaken on the Gold Coast to date and is Queensland’s first light rail network. The Gold Coast Light Rail project consists of:
- Stage One – Gold Coast University Hospital to Broadbeach, operational since July 2014
- Stage Two – Helensvale to Gold Coast University Hospital, operational since December 2017
- Stage Three – Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads,
SCGroup resources were engaged from initial business case development in 2006 through to completion of land delivery for stage 3 in early 2021 under a Private-Public Partnership PPP delivery model.
SCGroup’s role was “all things property” for Stage 1,2 & 3 of the project. An integrated team of SCG resources was engaged in varying capacities throughout the project lifecycles.
Notable achievements included improved route optimisation, land value capture strategies, development and delivery of land acquisition programs (Voluntary & Compulsory), successful integration of State and Local Government Project recourses in the project team.
In addition to responsibilities of “all things property” SCGroup undertook a SME role in the evaluation of bid tenders for all 3 Stages.
All land was delivered on time and on budget!
