Sunshine Coast Mass Transit Project
The Sunshine Coast’s population is expected to grow from 320,000 to more than 518,000 over the next 20 years. Based on past experience, much of this growth is expected to occur along the coast between Maroochydore and Caloundra. An area where a significant portion of the region’s population and jobs are located.
A mass transit system – whether it be based on bus or rail – can help manage the effects of growth. It can provide an alternative, sustainable mode of travel that is frequent, reliable, convenient and comfortable. Importantly, it can also reduce our dependence on private car travel.
SCGroup resources were engaged to assist the Sunshine Coast’s Mass Transit Project Team with business case developments including the deliverables of route optimisation option in conjunction with multidisciplinary technical experts and provision of Property Delivery financial estimates for options identified.
In addition, SCGroup’s SMEs have provided the City’s Executive Team support for the development of the Mass Trnsits Project delivery strategy.
